Upgrading some OpenShift versions stuck with vcenter_api_error - failed to find VM by UUID

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The cluster Storage Operator reports an error that prevents upgrade.
Cluster operator storage should not be upgraded between minor versions: VSphereCSIDriverOperatorCRUpgradeable: VMwareVSphereControllerUpgradeable: failed to find VM by UUID
  • However, the cluster VMs have the correct UUIDs and the error persists.
