Why does sssd-kcm up and down repeatedly?

Issue

  • The sssd_kcm service starts and ends repeatedly like in the below log.
systemd[1]: sssd-kcm.service: Succeeded.
sssd_kcm[xxxxxxx]: Starting up
sssd_kcm[xxxxxxx]: Shutting down (status = 0)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
  • sssd-kcm
