OVN: OCP4 Node receives inbound oversized UDP frames, but pod does not after upgrade

Issue

  • UDP payloads exceeding POD MTU size are not received by pod, but are received by node.
  • This issue occurred after upgrading from 4.10.z to a later Y-release, 4.11/4.12/4.13.
  • Pod receives a UDP response in 4.12.34/4.13.13, but only after the second UDP request.

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4
    • 4.11 and later
  • OVN-Kubernetes
  • UDP
  • Payloads exceeding POD MTU (1400 by default)
