- How to ensure all traffic to a NIC is handled in order?
- Applications used by customers cannot control the order of packets. Therefore, it is a problem that the order in which the NIC driver processes packets differs from the order in which the packets actually arrived at the NIC. We want to avoid the possibility of processing network packets in a different order. We want this for all traffic, not just a single stream of traffic.
- How do we ensure a switch mirror SPAN port or other promiscuous traffic monitoring is always received in the same order it comes in from the wire?
