EAP7 - How is Host controller name selected?

Issue

  • How is JBoss Host controller name selected? Does it use shortname or FQDN?
  • why the same host controller uses 2 different names (short name and FQDN) to connect to the DC with no changes on the DC/HC sides.
  • jboss system properties shows a different host name than expected
  • JBoss Hostname is not set in standalone.xml or standalone.conf or any other file, but JBoss CLI still shows wrong name:
[user @ correct-hostname]# /opt/rh/eap7/root/usr/share/wildfly/bin/jboss-cli.sh --connect
[standalone @ localhost:9990 /] ls -l
...
name        wrong-hostname        STRING
