Why EXT4 filesystem can't be mounted with "mand" option in RHEL8 and later?
Issue
- Can we use "mand" option i.e. "Mandatory locking" while mounting the EXT4 filesystem in RHEL 8 ?
- Unable to mount filesystem with mand option: Permission denied error :
[root@localhost ~]# mount /dev/mapper/testvg-mntlv /mnt -o mand
mount: /mnt: permission denied. <<<<<<<<<
[root@localhost ~]#

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
- EXT4 filesystem
