Why DHCP server doesn’t assign a specific IPv6 address to DHCP client using client’s MAC address?

Issue

  • DHCP client has been assigned an IPv6 address from the address pool range of DHCP server instead of a specific IPv6 address.
  • DHCP client needs to be assigned a specific IPv6 address which is configured in host{} of a DHCP server.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • All dhcp6 version
