OpenShift GitOps application-controller stops working respectively syncing application on OpenShift Container Platform 4

Issue

• The ArgoCD instances is stuck in the refreshing state approx. every 12 to 72 hour until the application controller is restarted.
• After running for a while, gitops stops working and the application controller is failing to sync any application or run any other activity.

• The ArgoCD application controller is reporting the below logs and afterwards no application sync or similar is happening.
