Container checkpoint restore does not work on Intel Sapphire Rapids processors

Issue

"podman container checkpoint" command is failed if the system meets the following conditions.

  • The server has Intel Sapphire Rapids processors.
  • The container has multi-thread processes.
# podman container checkpoint <container name>
CRIU checkpointing failed -52.  Please check CRIU logfile /var/lib/containers/storage/overlay-containers/<containerID>/userdata/dump.log

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1 - 9.2
  • criu-3.17-4.el9.x86_64
