Scheduled maintenance tasks for Managed OpenShift clusters

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated (OSD)
  • Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA)
  • Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO)

Issue

  • Request Red Hat SRE to perform a maintenance task at a specific date/time for Managed OpenShift clusters.

Resolution

Red Hat is constantly improving our services to make these functions either automated or self-service at the time a customer chooses. However, currently, scheduling maintenance tasks for Managed OpenShift clusters in advance or targeting specific timing is not available.

A request for a maintenance task (such as a control-plane/infra nodes resizing, node restart/re-creation, access key rotation, etc) will be received and triaged by the SRE Team accordingly and executed based on the existing workload and priorities.

Root Cause

Scheduling maintenance tasks for Managed OpenShift clusters in advance or targeting specific timing is not available.
