Issue

  • Fail to mount NFS share with NFS v4, the error below is shown in /var/log/messages.
Mar  7 16:00:39 nfs-client kernel: NFS: nfs4_discover_server_trunking unhandled error -5. Exiting with error EIO
Mar  7 16:00:39 nfs-client mount[1341]: mount.nfs4: mount system call failed
Mar  7 16:00:39 nfs-client systemd[1]: tmp-nas.mount: Mount process exited, code=exited status=32
Mar  7 16:00:39 nfs-client systemd[1]: tmp-nas.mount: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Mar  7 16:00:39 nfs-client systemd[1]: Failed to mount /tmp/nas.
  • But this NFS share can be successfully mounted with NFS v3.
