IPA/IdM using Compat Tree does not support the usage of short-names lookup

Issue

  • Setup IdM with compat tree enabled (it is by default), trusted with Active Directory using a domain-resolution-order on IdM stops to provide results when using short-names lookup.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (All Versions)
  • Red Hat Identity Management (IdM)
  • SLES/Solaris
