How to replace worker nodes AWS gp2 volumes with AWS gp3 volumes

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

Due to the cost-efficiency and improved throughput offered by gp3-type volumes on AWS, there is a growing demand among customers to migrate their existing worker nodes from gp2-type volumes to gp3-type volumes.

When creating new clusters, gp3 is now the default storage class. However, for existing clusters, it is possible to create a customized StorageClass to utilize gp3 volumes.

While gp3 can be utilized for Persistent Volumes (PV), it is important to note that system disks cannot be directly migrated to gp3 without creating a new cluster.
