OOM happens where roughly half of the total RAM is reserved for Hugepages for Oracle Database SGA
Issue
- The RHEL guest running on VMware ESXi got hung up.
- Oracle Database processes were running at that time.
- Roughly half of the total RAM was reserved/utilized for hugepages for Oracle Database SGA at that time.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9.z - kernel-3.10.0-1160.76.1.el7
- Oracle Database
- VMware ESXi
