Many temp files generated when running ksh scripts

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When a ksh script is running, many 0-byte files may be generated/deleted in /tmp folder. For example:
    /tmp/sf3f.47k
    /tmp/sf30.2sc
    /tmp/sf3b.t1b
    /tmp/sf0c.8d0

  • Although these temp files do not last long, if there's an antivirus service running, when it scans these temp files, it could cause high loading or server hang.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
