Failed to start The Apache HTTP Server in RHEL

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The httpd service fails to start in RHEL server.
  • Job for httpd.service failed because a fatal signal was delivered to the control process. See "systemctl status httpd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
  • Failed to start The Apache HTTP Server. Unit httpd.service entered failed state.
  • The httpd.service failed with the below error:
httpd: Syntax error on line 59 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 6 of /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d/00-base.conf: Cannot load modules/mod_access_compat.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/mod_access_compat.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
