Can I configure a `nfsserver` resource in Pacemaker as NFSv4-only?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When configuring the NFS settings of both cluster nodes to support only NFS version 4 as documented here, Pacemaker cannot start the nfsserver cluster resource because it fails with the following message:

nfsserver_start_0:10322:stderr [ Failed to start rpcbind.service: Unit is masked. ]

  • Is there a way to configure a nfsserver cluster resource in Pacemaker to support only NFSv4 shares?

  • Clarification is needed on whether the nfsd_args attribute should be used to enforce NFSv4-only mode and how it interacts with the required systemd service masking.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • High-Availability Add-On
  • nfsd
