How to disable NFSv4.1 client ID trunking or session trunking on RHEL8?

Issue

  • How to disable NFSv4.1 client ID trunking or session trunking on RHEL8?
  • NFS is mounted with a different IP address than the one configured in /etc/fstab
  • When mounting to an NFS Server with two IP addresses, the mount output of the directory shows clientaddr and addr using only one IP address for both mounts. It seems the second one is using the same route with the first one. We thought that policy based routing needs to be configured, we tested but policy based routing did not work. The problem still occurs.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8
  • NFS Server with multiple IP addresses
  • NFS Client with multiple IP addresses
  • Multiple NFS mounts, each using a different IP address
