Issue

  • After executed leapp preupgrade command, Inhibitor: Use of CIFS detected. Upgrade can't proceed error occurs

    # leapp preupgrade --target 8.6
      Upgrade has been inhibited due to the following problems:
      1. Inhibitor: Use of CIFS detected. Upgrade can't proceed
    
  • Found the following inhibitor in the /var/log/leapp/leapp-report.txt file

    # cat /var/log/leapp/leapp-report.txt
      Risk Factor: high (inhibitor)
      Title: Use of CIFS detected. Upgrade can't proceed
      Summary: CIFS is currently not supported by the inplace upgrade.
      Remediation: [hint] Comment out CIFS entries to proceed with the upgrade.
    
  • Cannot locate where to comment out the cifs entries

  • Tried to remove cifs-utils and samba packages but error still exists
