Database level High Availability (HA) when deploying Red Hat Single Sign-On (RH SSO) in OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)

Issue

  • The database deployed by the RH SSO were deployed by default pods on the OpenShift. To the current installation what improvements can be made to improve the availability when one of the nodes goes down, in particular improve the recovery time?

  • The RH SSO operator only has one PostgreSQL instance running. This instance went down and couldn't come back up and this caused an outage, affecting deployments and our ability to login in multiple applications.
