Downloading kernel package for sensor returns 500 error in RHACS 3

Environment

  • Red Hat Openshift Container Platform 4
  • Red Hat Advance Cluster Security 3.67
  • Kernel Version: 4.18.0-305.30.1.el8_4.x86_64

Issue

  • When trying to download a kernel package from sensor, returns a 500 error when the kernel module doesn't exist and show below error:
Local storage does not contain kernel module collector-4.18.0-305.30.1.el8_4.x86_64.ko.
curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 500
HTTP Status Code 500Unable to download from https://sensor.stackrox.svc:443/kernel-objects/b6745d795b8497aaf387843dc8aa07463c944d3ad67288389b754daaebea4b62/collector-4.18.0-305.30.1.el8_4.x86_64.ko.gz

Resolution

  • Please upgrade the existing cluster to RHACS 3.68 versions to avail the fix for this issue.

Root Cause

  • This is a known bug in RHACS 3.67 and fixed in RHACS 3.68 and later versions.
