RHEL7/8: disk read/write not visible in pcp dstat

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

When pcp dstat is executed, it is not showing disk read and write values:

[root@host ~]# pcp dstat
You did not select any stats, using -cdngy by default.
----total-usage---- -dsk/total- -net/total- ---paging-- ---system--

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 and 8
  • Performance Co-Pilot (PCP)
    • RHEL7: seen on pcp-4.3.2, likely also earlier versions affected
    • RHEL8: versions before pcp-5.0.2-5.el8
