Why does my server wait for input at the grub splash screen on boot in contrast to configuration settings?

Issue

• On one of my RHEL 5 servers, when I reboot it waits at the Red Hat 5 splash screen until I hit return to select a kernel. All of my other systems automatically use the first kernel in the list after 2 or 3 seconds and then come up automatically.
