Yum fills up /tmp directory with yum_save_txg.######.yumtx files

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Yum is generating yum_save_tx.date-time.######.yumtx transaction files every "N" minutes. Some process or third party agent is running yum check-update --assumeyes command that generates these yum_save_tx yum transaction files.

  • There isn't any crontab job with yum command found.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
