How to retrieve nodes and sub nodes using the Navigation API ?

Issue

• How to retrieve nodes and sub-nodes defined in the navigation.xml file using the public navigation API ?
• While retrieving sub-nodes using the public navigation API,as below, it returns null.

Node node = navigation.getNode(NodePath.path("MySubNode"));
