Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • During kickstart we are trying to create a single 14TB logical volume formatted with ext3 or ext4, but the system will only create an 8Tb volume.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 prior to Update 3
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 prior to Update 9
  • anaconda kickstart installation
  • Storage device larger than 8Tb
  • Kickstart with partition size larger than 8Tb, or with --grow and more than 8Tb free space available
