RHEL 5/6 anaconda kickstart will not grow a partition or logical volume to greater than 8Tb if fstype is ext3 or ext4
Issue
- During kickstart we are trying to create a single 14TB logical volume formatted with ext3 or ext4, but the system will only create an 8Tb volume.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 prior to Update 3
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 prior to Update 9
- anaconda kickstart installation
- Storage device larger than 8Tb
- Kickstart with partition size larger than 8Tb, or with --grow and more than 8Tb free space available
