How can I configure dhcp client to renew lease at certain period?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • System running RHEL as dhcp client
  • System running Windows 2008 as DNS servers with  scavenging enabled.
  • Windows DNS are scavenging DDNS entries older than 14 days. This means that the DDNS records created by my Redhat boxes are deleted.

Environment

  • RHEL as dhcp client
  • Windows 2008 as dhcp and ddns server
