ipa-join error - HTTP response code is 401, not 200

Issue

Running the command /usr/sbin/ipa-join to register an IPA client to an IPA domain may return the following error:

HTTP response code is 401, not 200

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.2 (Santiago)
