Is the Message "Failed to disable AUX port, but continuing anyway..." Benign?

Issue

The following message appears on a system with no PS/2 Port

Nov 28 15:40:07 localhost kernel: Failed to disable AUX port, but continuing anyway... Is this a SiS?
Nov 28 15:40:07 localhost kernel: If AUX port is really absent please use the 'i8042.noaux' option.

Rebooting the host with the kernel argument i8042.noaux present emoves the message

Can this message be ignored?  Or is it advisable to use the  i8042.noaux option?
