Issue

On Monday morning, 13 Dec 2021, the following Samba errata was released:

The errata contains a number of fixes for CVE related issues. In case Samba is installed as part of the Identity Management (IdM) framework in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5 (RHEL-8.5), these updated packages need to be installed together with a related errata for the Identity Management framework. There is an ABI change and also smb.conf configuration change that will not be accepted by the old IdM version, leading to a failure to recover from the upgrade. The IdM Errata unfortunately was not yet released but will be available within the next few days.
