How do I keep my JDK up to date with DST changes?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • For the upcoming DST changes, we would like to know is there any patch that is required to be applied for the JDK to bring it up to date with the latest DST data around the world?
  • The tzdata-java-2019c-1.el7.noarch package was updated as documented, but Java's timezone didn't change:
    [root@spapcrk01vt tzupdater-2.2.0]# java -jar tzupdater.jar -V
    tzupdater version 2.2.0-b01
    JRE tzdata version: tzdata2016i

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
  • Java
