- How do I properly test bonding failover?
- Testing bonding failover with
ifdown
,ifenslave
,ip link
,nmcli
,echo
into bonding's sysfs directory produces unexpected results. - Changing bonding slaves to test high availability gives the message:
bonding: bondX: Warning: the permanent HWaddr of ethX - 00:00:00:xx:xx:xx - is still in use by bondX.
Set the HWaddr of ethX to a different address to avoid conflicts.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Multiple network interfaces aggregated into one with the

driver
