Loss of network connectivity after "service network restart" or "ifdown ifup" on RHEL 5.7
Issue
Issuing a service network restart, or ifdown then ifup, on a Broadcom BCM5715S network interface results in loss of network connectivity over that interface.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7
- Kernel 2.6.18-274 and sub-versions
- Broadcom NIC using
tg3kernel driver module
