authselect unable to select minimal profile on RHEL8

Issue

Attempting to select minimal profile of authselect as instructed in Product Documentation¹. However, authselect returns below error:

• authselect returns Unable to get profile information error:

  # authselect select minimal
  [error] Unable to get profile information [2]: No such file or directory
  

• minimal profile is absence from profile list:

  # authselect list
  - nis         Enable NIS for system authentication
  - sssd        Enable SSSD for system authentication (also for local users only)
  - winbind     Enable winbind for system authentication
