Clarification of journal sizing requested

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • How can I estimate journal size and message size?

  • Our use case requires a certain amount of message space be supported per queue. Let's say we know we need 1GB (message body + header). If we size our journals at 1GB / .8 = 1.25 GB per (1) below is that adequate? Or do we need to size at 2GB per (2) below? This is critical to our use case because we have observed that whenever a " Enqueue threshold exception" occurs we subsequently experience memory leaks and/or cluster crashes. Now that we have worked out a generally stable cluster configuration, testing seems to support being able to go to 80% safely (ie if we need 1GB we configure 1.25 GB). Are we safe with this approach?
