Increasing Windows VM Name Length using rhevm-config does not work

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I tried setting:
# rhevm-config -s MaxVmNameLengthWindows=36
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root

# rhevm-config -g MaxVmNameLengthWindows
MaxVmNameLengthWindows: 36 version: general

# service ovirt-engine restart
Stopping engine-service: [ OK ]
Starting engine-service: [ OK ]

# rhevm-config -g MaxVmNameLengthWindows
MaxVmNameLengthWindows: 36 version: general
  • Then from the web-admin portal tried to create a Windows-2012-x86_64 VM.
  • I was not able to set a 34 character name for any Windows VM.

Environment
