Starting a Web Application after it has been stopped fails with "LifecycleException: WebCtxLoader cannot be restarted" on JBoss EAP 5.x

Issue

  • Application reload fails;
  • The start operation on a Web Application raises the following error:
    [RMI TCP Connection(9436)-192.168.1.10] ERROR [org.apache.tomcat.util.modeler.BaseModelMBean] - Exception invoking method start
LifecycleException:  WebCtxLoader cannot be restarted
at org.jboss.web.tomcat.service.WebCtxLoader.start(WebCtxLoader.java:132)
at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.start(StandardContext.java:4221)
