MySQL non-graceful shutdown prevents service restart

Issue

• In our environment we had run cluster fencing tests, after hard-reboot our MySQL will not start.
• After a shutdown caused by power outages, when restarting the system we are unable to access mysql and receive this error:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)
