cups resolving dynamic IP addressed printers

Issue

I have a number of mobile printers devices that use DHCP for addressing. Cups appears to resolve the last known address for the printer, but not change the resolution as the printer addresses change unless cups is restarted. I need to have cups periodically refresh its printer IP address resolution.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.4.2
