Mellanox cards fail to load with error code 16
Issue
- After kernel patching was completed the Mellanox NICs were not loading, even though the drivers were loaded.
- Seeing error messages in the logs:
mlx5_core: <BUS ADDRESS>: Firmware over 10000 MS in pre-initializing state, aborting.
mlx5_core: <BUS ADDRESS>: mlx5_load_one_failed with error -16
mlx5_core: probe of <BUS ADDRESS> failed with error -16

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
- Mellanox cards
