Issue

  • "Permission denied while opening PID file or unsafe symlink chain: /var/run/chrony/chronyd.pid" is shown in rhel7.7.
  • Permission denied while opening PID file or unsafe symlink chain: /var/opt/rh/rh-nginx116/run/nginx/nginx.pid
  • nginx server fails to restart with systemctl restart rh-nginx116-nginx.service and the process does not get killed
