What is the meaning of multipathd messages such as "add map", "remove map", "devmap not registered" in RHEL?
Issue
- I would like to better understand mulitpathd messages seen in the /var/log/messages.
- Should I be concerned about messages from multipathd such as the following:
Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-22: remove map (uevent) Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-22: remove map (uevent) Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-22: devmap not registered, can't remove Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-21: remove map (uevent) Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-21: devmap not registered, can't remove Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-20: remove map (uevent) Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-20: devmap not registered, can't remove Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: dm-5: remove map (uevent) Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: mpath3: stop event checker thread Sep 1 07:41:13 rhel5 multipathd: mpath3: event checker exit Sep 1 07:42:38 rhel5 multipathd: dm-5: add map (uevent) Sep 1 07:42:38 rhel5 multipathd: mpath3: event checker started Sep 1 07:42:39 rhel5 multipathd: dm-20: add map (uevent) Sep 1 07:42:39 rhel5 multipathd: dm-21: add map (uevent) Sep 1 07:42:39 rhel5 multipathd: dm-22: add map (uevent)
