vsftpd doesn't log IP address in case of failed login attempts in RHEL5

Issue

  • In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, vsftpd is not logging IP address in /var/log/secure in case of failed login attempts to the FTP server. In RHEL4, it was logging IP addresses and now because of this, the offending IP addresses cannot be blocked in iptables.
