Why interface eth0 goes into promiscuous mode when used in Bonding over bridge?

Issue

We are running four RHEL 5.4 64 bit server .We have created Network Bond name bond0 and facing an issue:-

  • The ping is going and coming alternatively.
  • The message its giving is "The bond0 and eth0 is in promiscuous mode"

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4
