Updating existing packages on container images fails

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • We are trying to have containers yum update so we are able to have latest packages and satisfy security requirements. We followed chapter 9.3 of the [https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/16.1/html/advanced_overcloud_customization/obtaining-container-images-from-private-registries#updating-existing-packages-on-container-images](Advanced Overcloud Customization) document and when we run sudo openstack tripleo container image prepare -e ~/containers-prepare-parameter.yaml it errors and appears to have a problem with the shell script being used to update.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 16.1 (RHOSP)
