Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Logical Volume has been created on top of NVMe over FC device presented from external storage and with native nvme multipathing configured. During the boot process, system tries to mount the device according to /etc/fstab record and the job terminates by timeout which causes the system to boot into emergency mode.
  • Issue not seen when mounting the LV manually after system boot.
  • Issue occurs without native nvme multipathing, that is, even with the DM Multipathing.
  • Issue is seen as well while trying to mount nvmedevices from external storage and without LVM.
