Kernel panicked on boot and 'chroot /mnt/sysimage' command in rescue mode fails with 'chroot failed to run command /bin/sh no such file or directory' error
Issue
- Kernel panicked on boot with
kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
visible on the console. Once booted into thelinux rescue
environment, the following message was observed when attempting to issue achroot /mnt/sysimage
:
# chroot /mnt/sysimage
chroot failed to run command /bin/sh no such file or directory
