Where is the HTTP Basic Authentication Name and Password passed in MetaMatrix XML Relational SOAP Connector?

Where are HTTP Basic Authentication Name and Password properties passed / 'handled' in the XML Connector class?

Due to internal changes, we had to extend this class...that extension puts the name and password into the class after retrieving them from a security application.
- Could we have extended the wrong class?
