Yum repositories no longer accessible after yum server rebooted

Issue

  • yum repository server rebooted, and now yum clients are getting errors:

    # yum list
Setting up repositories
http://yum-server.example.com/pub/yum/4AS/i386/U2/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (111, 'Connection refused')>
Trying other mirror.
Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: rhel-4U2-i386
failure: repodata/repomd.xml from rhel-4U2-i386: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
