Satellite forgets too many facts as an attempt to prevent performance penalty by storing them all

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

Recently upgraded Satellite from 6.6 to 6.7 and since doing so, it was noticed that some facts from systems registered with Satellite are missing. In particular, it was noticed that the fact ipaddress_eth* is no longer being pulled for some systems. If you run facter from the puppet client it shows that values being populated but if you search from Satellite they're missing.

Environment

  • Satellite 6.7 - 6.10
  • Large number of puppet facts
